C. C. Sunflower is the author and illustrator behind the Buddy and Ash series. Her work is known for colorful illustration, subtle humor, and themes drawn from the applied arts. She lives in Kansas with the real-life Buddy and Ash, the rescue cats who inspired the series.
She is trained in fine art and holds a BA in Art History, a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science, and HVAC certification. Her professional background includes illustration and design, with work as an art director for a map company, an illustrator for solar technology firms, and Chief Executive Officer and Library Director of a public library.
C. C. Sunflower has color-letter synesthesia, which informs her approach to illustration, pacing, and color harmony. Her books are composed with intention, with attention to clarity, visual balance, and sensory comfort.

S. B. Miller is a Kansas-based garden railroad enthusiast and the author of G-Scale Garden Railroad Track Plans. He began as a volunteer working with large-scale outdoor railroads and gradually became a trusted resource for G-scale layout design through hands-on experience.
His work focuses on practical, well-tested track plans shaped by real-world conditions and lessons learned along the way. S. B. Miller values clarity, durability, and layouts that are both interesting to operate and realistic to build.
His writing is direct and enjoyable to read, offering clear guidance for hobbyists who want dependable designs without unnecessary complexity.

Willa Fern is the editor and publisher of Sunflower Trail Press. When not working on books, she enjoys perfecting her favorite homestyle recipes for cast iron skillets.
